The evolution stone ores are a set of blocks that can be mined to yield a single Evolution Stone.

Obtaining

Mining

Evolution stone ores themselves can be obtained by mining them with a stone pickaxe or higher enchanted with Silk Touch. When mined without Silk Touch, evolution stone ores will drop their respective evolution stone. These blocks are not affected by the Fortune enchantment.

Natural Generation

Evolution stone ore generation is completely dependent on biome tags. All of the various evolution stone ore types have "common" biome tags in which they generate and "rare" biome tags in which they generate half as often.

Evolution stone ores' common generation comes in two batches. The first batch attempts to generate 8 times per chunk in blobs of 1-2, from levels 64 to 320, being most common around level 192 and becoming less common towards either end of the range. The second batch attempts to generate 8 times per chunk in blobs of 1-2, from levels -64 to 192, being most common around level 64 and becoming less common towards either end of the range.

Evolution stone ores' rare generation comes in two batches. The first batch attempts to generate 4 times per chunk in blobs of 1-2, from levels 64 to 320, being most common around level 192 and becoming less common towards either end of the range. The second batch attempts to generate 4 times per chunk in blobs of 1-2, from levels -64 to 192, being most common around level 64 and becoming less common towards either end of the range.

These create a large section between levels 64 and 192 in which evolution stones are the most common.

Dawn Stone

Dawn stone ore generates commonly in "Peak" and "Sky" biome tags.

Dawn stone ore also rarely generates in "Floral," "Glacial," and "Hills" biome tags.

Dusk Stone

Dusk stone ore generates commonly in "Spooky" and "Taiga" biome tags.

Dusk stone ore also rarely generates in "Swamp" biome tags.

Fire Stone

Fire stone ore generates commonly in "Desert," "Thermal," and "Volcanic" biome tags.

Fire stone ore also rarely generates in "Sandy" biome tags.

Ice Stone

Ice stone ore generates commonly in "Glacial," "Snowy," and "Tundra" biome tags.

Ice stone ore also rarely generates in "Freezing" biome tags.

Leaf Stone

Leaf stone ore generates commonly in "Forest," "Jungle," and "Lush" biome tags.

Leaf stone ore also rarely generates in "Swamp" and "Tropical" biome tags.

Moon Stone

Moon stone ore generates commonly in "Dripstone" biome tags.

Moon stone ore also rarely generates in "Taiga" biome tags.

Moon stone ore is also a specialty generation, mainly generating as part of Dripstone pillars in Dripstone Cave biomes. They attempt to generate in Dripstone blocks 320 times per chunk in blobs of 1-2, from levels -64 to 256.

Shiny Stone

Shiny stone ore generates commonly in "Floral," "Magical," and "Sky" biome tags.

Shiny stone ore also rarely generates in "Island" and "Peak" biome tags.

Sun Stone

Sun stone ore generates commonly in "Badlands," "Dripstone," and "Grassland" biome tags.

Sun stone ore also rarely generates in "Desert" and "Tropical" biome tags.

Thunder Stone

Thunder stone ore generates commonly in "Highlands" and "Hills" biome tags.

Thunder stone ore also rarely generates in "Jungle," "Plains," and "Tropical" biome tags.

Water Stone

Water stone ore generates commonly in "Ocean," "River," and "Swamp" biome tags.

Water stone ore also rarely generates in "Jungle," "Thermal," and "Tropical" biome tags.
