The Deepslate Crystal Core is the central block of a Type Gem crystal formation. It grows Type Gems into Type Gem Clusters and eventually Type Gem Blocks over time.
Natural Generation
Deepslate Crystal Cores generate as part of underground Type Gem crystal formations naturally found in air-exposed Deepslate caves throughout the Overworld.
Propagation
The Deepslate Crystal Core periodically allows the core to grow Type Gem Clusters and Type Gem Blocks from attached Type Gems.
A single Deepslate Crystal Core can support a maximum of 7 connected Type Gem Blocks.
Growth only occurs when there is sufficient adjacent air space for new crystal clusters to form.
Obtaining
Mining
Deepslate Crystal Cores can be mined using an Iron Pickaxe or better.
Unlike most naturally generated growth blocks, the core drops itself when mined, allowing it to be collected and placed elsewhere.
Usage
Cultivation
Players can right-click a Type Gem on a placed Deepslate Crystal Core to plant a crystal formation. The resulting formation grows over time using the same mechanics as naturally generated formations.
