The Deepslate Crystal Core is the central block of a Type Gem crystal formation. It grows attached Type Gems into Type Gem Clusters, which eventually mature into Type Gem Blocks.
Natural Generation
Deepslate Crystal Cores generate as part of underground Type Gem crystal formations naturally found in air-exposed Deepslate caves throughout the Overworld.
Propagation
The Deepslate Crystal Core periodically grows attached Type Gems into Type Gem Buds. Buds mature into Type Gem Clusters, which eventually blossom into Type Gem Blocks. These new blocks can then produce additional buds, allowing crystal formations to expand naturally.
A single Deepslate Crystal Core can support a maximum of 7 connected Type Gem Blocks.
Obtaining
Mining
Deepslate Crystal Cores can be mined using an Iron Pickaxe or better.
Unlike most naturally generated growth blocks, the core drops itself when mined, allowing it to be collected and placed elsewhere.
