The Deepslate Crystal Core is the central block of a Type Gem crystal formation. It grows Type Gems into crystal clusters and eventually Type Gem Blocks over time.
Natural Generation
Deepslate Crystal Cores generate as part of underground Type Gem crystal formations between Y -64 and Y 192.
Growth
The Deepslate Crystal Core periodically grows nearby crystal formations by producing Type Gem Clusters from a small bud attached to the core itself.
Clusters develop through four growth stages before blossoming into new Type Gem Blocks.
A single Deepslate Crystal Core can support a maximum of 7 connected Type Gem Blocks. Once this limit is reached, newly produced clusters can continue to mature visually but will no longer blossom into additional Type Gem Blocks.
Growth only occurs when there is sufficient adjacent air space for new crystal clusters to form.

Mining
Deepslate Crystal Cores can be mined using an Iron Pickaxe or better.
Unlike most naturally generated growth blocks, the core drops itself when mined, allowing it to be collected and placed elsewhere.
Usage
Farming
Placed Deepslate Crystal Cores continue producing and expanding nearby Type Gem crystal formations over time, provided there is sufficient space for growth.
