Type Gems are items that can be used as both held items and as an ingredient in TM production.
Natural Generation
Type Gems generate underground as exposed crystal formations in the Deepslate layer of any cave biome between Y -64 and Y 192.
Formations contain a randomly selected type which can grow over time from a Deepslate Crystal Core.
The core produces growing crystal clusters that mature into additional crystal blocks.
A single Deepslate Crystal Core can grow up to a maximum of 7 connected Type Gem blocks.
Obtaining
Mining
Exploration
Type Gems can be found in any ruin structure both in gilded chests as well as in suspicious blocks.
Usage
Battling
When held by a Pokémon as a Held Item a Type Gem will boost the damage of the next move of that matching Type Gem by 10%, consuming the gem in the process.
Crafting
Storage Blocks
Held Items
TM Production
Type gems are a primary ingredient in TM Production.
