Type Gems are items that can be used as both held items and as an ingredient in TM production.
Obtaining
Natural Generation
Type Gems generate underground as crystal formations in cave spaces between Y -64 and Y 192. They appear in any biome and form around a central Deepslate Crystal Core, requiring exposed air to generate. Each formation contains a randomly selected type and may include additional connected crystal blocks and smaller growing clusters.

Growth
Type Gem formations can grow over time from a Deepslate Crystal Core. Growth produces gem clusters which gradually mature into additional Type Gem blocks.
Exploration
Type Gems can be found in any ruin structure, both in chests and in suspicious sand and gravel.
